What is Twitterville?
Twitterville is both an exercise in creative writing and a fantasy campaign world for D&D and other games.
How Does it Work?
Each week a challenge is set to help define part of the world of Twitterville via Twitter, e.g. describe an NPC who lives in the city. With only 140 characters to play with, this forces the writers to really focus on what is important. The tweets are picked up automatically by the system and can be viewed through the web site.
Once all the tweets are in, they are collated into plot lines or ‘threads’. Each thread is made of one or more tweets from the database. The are then tagged and linked to locations to ease exploration.
Who Can Write for Twitterville?
Anyone!
All you need to do is follow 6d6 Fireball on Twitter then start tweeting on this week’s challenge, making sure to include the #Twitterville tag in your tweet.
How can I add threads, locations and tags?
Right now, this can only be done by the site administrator (Chris from 6d6 Fireball) but we hope to open it up to everyone in the next few weeks.
